IF YOU HAVE HAD COVID, WATCH FOR………

A remarkable 70%+ of individuals who have had COVID can complain of at least one symptom persisting for greater than 6 months. THAT’S AMAZING!! And that portends very poorly for future health of the population.

The risk factors for long COVID include:

  • Being Female

  • Being Between 35 and 65 years of age

  • Having other underlying Conditions

  • Being Obese

  • Being Unvaccinated

If you have any of these symptoms and have had COVID or you think you had COVID, be particularly careful. Under other situations you might have thought nothing of these symptoms. However with COVID, the symptoms could be indicative of a much more significant underlying ailment:

  • Chest pain, at rest and especially with exertion

  • Decreased exercise tolerance – you just can’t exercise or even walk like you used to

  • Breathlessness – you are short of breath doing things you used to easily do

  • Cough – at rest or with exertion

  • Fatigue

  • One leg swelling bigger than another – it could indicate COVID related blood clots

  • Muscle Ache and Pain

  • Brain fog

  • Gastrointestinal upset or diarrhea

Keep in mind that COVID increases our overall inflammation so inflammatory challenges you may have may either get worse or become apparent. COVID also changes how easily blood clots form. If you see unusual skin splotches or splinter like things under your fingernails, you may be looking at increasing blood clots.
